In between the borders of Thailand and Burma live the Karen refugees, most of which are children. The following photos are of bamboo structures created for the children. Bamboo housing for orphanage
The roofs allow for shade in the summer, ventilation for breathing and also collect the rain water during the rainy season. Bottles have been used for windows to bring in natural lighting and reuse a waste product. The structures are simple, light, transportable and made from local materials. Check em out!
